Accessibility

This is a fight for everyone who loves this lake, so the website should work for everyone too. We want the site to be usable no matter how you browse it.

Last updated June 6, 2026

Our commitment

Save Cedar Creek Lake is a volunteer effort, and we want this site to be welcoming to every neighbor — including those who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, screen magnification, captions, or other assistive technology. We aim to follow the widely used Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA as our standard.

What we’ve done

  • Written the site with clear, structured headings so it’s easy to navigate by screen reader.
  • Kept text and background colors at readable contrast levels.
  • Made the site responsive, so it works on phones, tablets, and desktops, and when text is enlarged.
  • Labeled our sign-up forms and buttons so they can be completed with a keyboard or assistive technology.
  • Added descriptive text for meaningful images and icons.
  • Avoided flashing or rapidly moving content.

Honest limits

We’re neighbors building this in our spare time, not a professional web team, so the site may not be perfect. Some linked documents (such as scanned PDFs of letters and agendas from public bodies) come from third parties and may not be fully accessible. If you need the contents of any document in a different format, just ask — we’ll get it to you.

Need help, or hit a barrier?

If anything on this site is hard to use, or you need information here in another format (large print, plain text, read aloud over the phone), please tell us. We’ll do our best to help and to fix the problem for the next person.

When you contact us, it helps to include the page address and a short description of what got in your way.

Ongoing work

Accessibility is something we keep improving as we go. We review feedback from neighbors and update the site when we can. Thank you for helping us make this fight accessible to the whole community.
